how do you know it’s the ONE?
let’s talk about how you know when the dress is THE dress! so many people believe that if you cry in a dress it means it’s the one. while this is the case for some brides, it isn’t the case for every bride. so what really makes it the ONE?
before we dive into that, let’s talk about how hyped up ‘saying yes to the dress’ has gotten, shall we? yes, there are going to be people who have that big, emotional, burst into tears moment. and while that's fantastic for some brides, that doesn't mean it HAS to be your moment. there is so much pressure to have that reaction that we often times see brides actually end up missing out on their own moment. it’s almost like brides are conditioned to think they have to cry or it’s not the one, and if they don’t cry they get discouraged and disappointed. they might end up going to 5 other shops hoping to have that moment but in reality it might never come.
to avoid that, lets go over 5 ways to know it’s the one:
ONE: the first one is simple… you just can’t stop thinking about it! maybe it’s the first wedding dress you’ve tried on, maybe it’s the 4th, but every dress you try on after keeps bringing your mind back to one in particular. you might find yourself trying to change things about other dresses to make it like that one. you might be looking over photos and keep stopping at one in particular, lingering a little longer than others. your stylist might even bring in similar styles, but they just aren’t as good as that one.
TWO: this next one goes hand in hand with the last. being super excited to get back into that one wedding dress might just be your sign. you might find yourself in another dress and you keep looking back at the dress on the hanger. when you do finally get to retry it back on you might get a super happy giddy feeling! you can’t stop smiling and can’t wait to get the curtains open to show your group again!
THREE: another big sign the dress is “the one” is that it makes you feel like yourself! you don’t feel like you are playing dress up or pretending to be the idea of a bride. it is true that you will try on a lot of gorgeous looks, but if they don’t feel like YOU, then they’ll just stay gorgeous looks. you want your wedding day look to have elements of your everyday looks, just elevated.
FOUR: it makes you feel super confident, like the sexy bad ass b you are! you might put it on and start striking poses. you start to feel yourself and you feel like you could take on the world! you stand up straighter, you walk with a little strut, and you start to glow. and yes, a dress can really do that!
FIVE: the last sign the dress might be “the one” is when you don’t want to take it off! you actually get sad that you can’t wear it longer and feel disappointed you need to change back into your every day clothes. this is especially important if it is a sample sale dress! if the idea of someone else getting that dress devastates you, then it just might be the one!
